The action: Make a commitment to your team that you will set aside some time every week for improving the work.

The long form: In Mike Rother’s excellent book, Toyota Kata, he explains how maintaining the status quo of an organisation is simply not an option. Stephen Covey calls this Sharpening the saw, and it is great investment in future productivity.
